Xiaowu Village in Tianyuan Town, Lianping County, Heyuan City, is situated upstream of the Xinfeng River and lies at the foot of Gefeng Mountain, one of Lianping County's eight scenic spots. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, the village boasts rich fishing resources, which in earlier times served as the main source of livelihood for most residents.

Each year, when the river rises during the fishing season, the villagers of Xiaowu use traditional and unique fishweir techniques to catch fish. Fishweir, also known as a fishing weir, is a facility used to trap fish by building barriers with wooden stakes, branches, or woven nets in rivers, tidal channels, or estuaries. In late July of this year, the Guangdong Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Fishweir Culture Exhibition Hall, located next to the Xiaowu Village Committee office building, was officially opened. Shaped like a fishweir, the exhibition hall showcases models of fishweirs and materials on the heritage and development of local fishweir #culture, attracting many visitors and residents.

河源市连平县田源镇肖屋村位于新丰江上游，坐落在连平县八景之一“戈峰耸翠”的戈峰山脚下。这里依山傍水，渔业资源十分丰富，故早年当地村民大多靠捕鱼为生。

每年江面水涨到了捕鱼时节，肖屋村的村民就利用古老而独特的鱼梁技艺捕鱼。鱼梁，也称渔梁，指筑堰拦水捕鱼的一种设施，用木桩、柴枝或编网等制成篱笆或栅栏，置于河流、潮水河中或出海口处。今年7月底，在肖屋村委会办公楼旁边，广东省非物质文化遗产作鱼梁文化展馆正式投入使用，这座文化展馆外形似鱼梁形状，里面展出鱼梁模型、当地鱼梁文化的传承和发展资料等，吸引了不少游客与当地村民参观。
