September 28th of the Chinese lunar calendar (falling on October 30th in this year), is the birthday of Hua Guang Emperor, the patriarch of Cantonese opera, which is a traditional fete day that the disciples from the opera guild would carry the statue of Hua Guang Emperor on a procession. In 2024, it’s the 10th parade for the emperor. At 9 am, the members of the Luan Yu ensemble, one of the troupes from Cantonese Opera, carried the statue of Hua Guang through Yongqing Fang in Liwan District, offering a magnificent showcase of Cantonese opera culture.




华光祖师诞巡游，銮舆弟子齐庆贺。10月30日，农历九月廿八，是粤剧祖师华光师傅的诞辰，按照传统习俗，粤剧戏行会的龙虎舞狮们抬着华光师傅像巡游。今年，广州市荔湾区迎来第十届粤剧华光祖师诞巡游展演系列活动，30日9时，广东粤剧銮舆堂一众弟子们抬着华光师傅像沿着永庆坊巡游，并为街坊们带来精彩的粤剧文化盛宴。
