Li Junru, vice chairman of the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, said that this year's conference will set up a series of activities, such as an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, 10 parallel seminars, and two closed meetings.
Li Huilai, vice president of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, said that currently more than 60 international guests have confirmed their attendance, including Ernesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico, Kevin Rudd, former prime minister of Australia, Shaukat Aziz, former prime minister of Pakistan, and Gordon Brown, former prime minister of the United Kingdom.
In addition, more than 100 domestic guests, including representatives of think tanks, academics, and scholars, have confirmed their attendances.
Launched in 2013, the Understanding China Conference has served as a platform for the world to understand China's development strategies. The conference was first held in Guangzhou in 2019 after previously being held in Beijing.
Supporting activities, such as world cuisine exhibitions, artistic performances, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) performances, as well as themed exhibitions on building a well-off society and poverty alleviation efforts, will also be held during the event to help attendees learn more about the charm of Guangzhou.
