For overseas Chinese, what is their impression of Guangdong ...│"Guangdong is the Name of Our Homeland" Showcase

For overseas Chinese, what does Guangdong mean? It is a memory of taste, warmth in the dialect, and even more, a sense of belonging in their blood. Living in a foreign country, their impression of their hometown remains as vivid as a lively painting, unforgettable.

Xiaoai (pseudonym), originally from Xinhui, Jiangmen, is currently pursuing graduate studies in Canada. When talking about Guangdong, the first things that come to her mind are Xinhui dried tangerine peel and Gujing roast goose. "Every time I make soup, I add a bit of dried tangerine peel. Every time the aroma wafts out, it feels like I'm back home," she says.

After graduation, Xiaoyi (pseudonym) went to Canada to pursue her career. In a foreign land, the Cantonese dialect triggers her deepest feelings. "Although I'm over 10,000 kilometers away from Guangdong, hearing a couple of sentences in Cantonese makes me feel like I've never left my hometown," she shares.

For Su Xiao (pseudonym), who has settled overseas, traditional Chinese festivals keep her closely connected to her hometown. "I celebrate festivals such as the Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and so on, and let my children experience traditional Chinese culture," she says.

The glittering lights along the Pearl River, the steaming baskets on early morning tea tables, the leisurely footsteps in the street surrounded by Qilou buildings, the melodious singing on Cantonese opera stages... What is your impression of Guangdong as you strive abroad? Currently, the second season of the video solicitation activity "Guangdong, the Name of Our Homeland - 'Snap' a Ticket to Guangdong"  is being broadcast. Stay tuned!
