Where would the Lingnan people of the Han Dynasty put their favorite snacks? The five big-eyed birds point to their bellies! The birds are called "xiao" in Chinese, commonly known as owls. They are huddled closely together, each with a round head, big eyes, and slightly spread wings. This super cute "owl combo" comes from the Lingnan region over a thousand years ago and is a set of interconnected pottery jars. These adorably cute jars set served as ancient food containers and were mainly popular in the Lingnan region during the Han Dynasty. The individual jars of the pottery set are not connected, allowing people to enjoy a variety of foods without mixing flavors, making them an essential item on the Lingnan dining table.
