Dicaeum cruentatum, a bird on the list of terrestrial wild animals of important ecological, scientific, and social value, has joined the bird population at Haizhu Wetland. It is a small black and red species of the flowerpecker family, weighing between 6-8 grams and measuring 8-10 centimeters in length. It inhabits forest edges, orchards, and similar habitats, with a diet primarily consisting of insects and berries. Occasionally, it also enjoys flowers, pollen, and nectar, earning it the well-deserved title of a "forest gourmet."

新发现！身着橄榄绿背上一抹红，海珠湿地鸟类再添新成员——三有保护野生动物“朱背啄花鸟”（雌鸟），至此海珠湿地鸟类提升至201种。朱背啄花鸟是一种小型的黑色及红色啄花鸟，体重6-8克，体长8-10厘米，栖息于林缘、果园等，主要以昆虫及浆果等为食，偶尔也会品尝花、花粉、花蜜等美味，是名副其实的“林间美食家”。
