Ballyer Trad and the Folk Group的日常训练,该团每个周末常有三十人左右在隔壁的功能区演出。

(The 1st Chinese Culture and Art Festival in Ireland),并破例向这支社区大型乐队发出邀请:尽管节目早已确定,他们仍可登上艺术节舞台,拥有10-15分钟专属表演时间,并进入纪录片镜头。

Irish Folk Music Meets Chinese Art Festival: A “Secret Diplomacy”in the Library
By Chen Qiumei (Annie MacCarthy)
This article recounts a chance encounter at Ballyfermot Library in Dublin's west end that blossomed into an unexpected cross-cultural collaboration. During a July afternoon visit to the modern, well-equipped public library, the author—wife of renowned Irish musician Jimmy MacCarthy—stumbled upon a rehearsal of local folk group Ballyer Trad and the Folk Group. The musicians' initial reserve quickly warmed into enthusiastic camaraderie upon learning her connection to the celebrated songwriter.
Seizing the moment, the author extended a last-minute invitation for the community band to perform at the upcoming 1st Chinese Culture and Art Festival in Ireland. Despite the festival program being finalized, the group was offered a 10-15 minute slot and inclusion in a documentary film. The delighted musicians responded with an impromptu performance on guitar, bass, accordion, and Irish flute.
The piece highlights Ballyfermot Library as one of Dublin's largest branch libraries, featuring cutting-edge facilities including professional recording studios, creative workspaces, sensory rooms, and extensive digital resources, all serving as a vibrant hub for community arts and education.
