What is so amazing about Guangzhou, the city wherethe Canton Fair is held? At this year's Canton Fair,GDToday invites international guests to step out ofthe exhibition halls to explore the beautiful andmodern city of Guangzhou. On October 19,GDToday launched the first episode of the CantonFair Business Tour for Canton Fair guests to exploreGuangzhou. Eleven guests from six countries,including the UK, Italy, Pakistan, Peru, and Thailand,experienced a ride on an autonomous bus, and visitedrepresentative enterprises of Huangpu's technologicalinnovation.
Guests marvel at advanced medical technologies,seeking further cooperation opportunities
At the first stop, Bioisland, guests marvel at theachievements in the medical field ofGuangzhou. They are amazed by the most cutting-edge medical technologies and are eager to learnmore to find business cooperation opportunities.
Enrique Medrano, Consultant of Biz-Asia and aPeruvian buyer, said that he did not know before thatthere was such a clustering place of high-endmedical technology and research in Guangzhou, andthat the business tour is good for demonstratingGuangzhou and China's achievements to the world."We can learn so many things from how they'redoing the things here. And then we can bring theseideas and technologies to our country in LatinAmerica."
Abdul Sammad, Researcher of LifeOne Pakistan,was very interested in an autonomous catheterexhibited at the Bioisland, which can travel throughthe blood vessels to go inside the body, to the brain,the heart, and so on. He said that although the ideahas been in practice for a long time, seeing it becomecommercialized though excited him greatly. He isalso very interested in further cooperation: "I got aBioisland marketing team member on myWeChat. I'm actually in contact with them. I have tohave a meeting with them to see what and how theycan offer me."
At Bioisland, the guests also experienced unmannedbus riding, and enjoyed the beautiful sceneries andfine weather of Guangzhou. Mr. Sammad said that itwas nice to be able to escape the hustle and bustle ofthe Fair, to visit some quiet places like the Bioisland,and try out the autonomous bus riding. "We aregetting some good vibes here from this tour."
Agricultural drones and IoT system attractguests' attention, promising automation-aidedagricultural growth
Lastly, the tour group arrived at XAG, an enterprisefocusing on agricultural drones, and agriculturaltechnologies in general. The advanced drones,agricultural IoT system that monitors the rainfall,temperature, wind, and soil, and autonomous farmdriving system, —all these attracted the eyes andwows from the guests. Guests were very muchinterested in the specific details of the drones, askingabout the flight speed, distance, altitude, and more,and were also curious about the adaptation of thedrones to be used in countries other than China,including how to meet up to country-specificstandards, whether the drones are equipped with amultilingual system, and so on.
As the tour sew to an end, the guests expressed theirsatisfaction and gains from the event and wished formore such events in the future, to explore moreadvanced technologies in Guangzhou and even inother GBA cities, such as Shenzhen.
