Guangdong's "sea of pineapple" welcomes global buyers

As the pineapple harvest season approaches in Xuwen County, ZhanjiangCity, Guangdong Province, the county's magistrate has recently issued an invitation letter to global pineapple buyers, inviting them to visit Xuwen and taste the fruits in person.

It is the fourth consecutive year that the county's  magistrate has sent invitation letters to global pineapple buyers.

Xuwen County is a major pineapple-producing area in China, accounting for nearly one-third of the country's total pineapple production. Located at the southern tip of Leizhou Peninsula, Xuwen enjoys sunshine throughout the year and is surrounded by waves, forming a unique natural environment that has nurtured this "sea of pineapples."

The fertile red soil and ample sunlight provide abundant nutrients for the growth of pineapple, resulting in sweet and juicy fruits. Data shows that the sugar-to-acid ratio of Xuwen pineapples is stably maintained at 14:1. According to the letter, Xuwen County will  offer full support to buyers, ensuring a more efficient and smooth procurement processt. After harvesting, the county will cooperate with leading cold chain logistics enterprises to ensure that pineapples are loaded and shipped within 24 hours, preserving their freshness to the greatest extent.

Furthermore, Xuwen will offer free accommodation and transportation services to every buyer. The service hotline 17818812221, will provide round-the-clock assistance to buyers, including logistics progress inquiries and after-sales services.

For long-term partners, the county will also offer flexible pricing strategies and guaranteed high-quality supplies, aiming to make cooperation more competitive and sustainable. Apart from its superior-quality pineapples, Xuwen also invites buyers to taste local delicacies such as seafood soup, pineapple dishes, pineapple wine, and to enjoy the beautiful seaside scenery.

In recent years, Xuwen pineapples have shown robust development, with a planting area stabilized at around 350,000 mu (about 23,300 hectares) and an annual output of about 700,000 tons.

Through e-commerce live streaming, online marketing, and other means, the sales of Xuwen pineapples have increased significantly, with the production value rising to 2.5 billion RMB in 2023. The county has experienced five consecutive years of abundant harvests, benefiting nearly 50,000 farmer households and 146,000 laborers.
