China's national "two sessions," a key political event shaping the country's policy direction, are set to begin in Beijing this week. Among them, China's top legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC), will convene its annual session on March 5.
As the highest state organ of power, the NPC will deliberate the government work report, which will outline China's annual growth target, and approve government budgets and national development plans, among others.
